There is an ever present haze in the town centre – a background noise of the sensations felt by past residents. But further out of town, it gets quiet.

A hand-drawn map of the Little Avoning Area. The bulk of the town is to the left of the river, including the town square, the market square, and the Toasty Mink. They are connected by two bridges to the docks and further buildings on the right hand side. Further downriver is the Smithy on the right bank and the cemetery on the left bank. Upriver is the dam, only slightly above the gallows, which are right next to the ruins. Arrows pointing to the top left and bottom right corners indicate "to local villages". An arrow in the bottom left indicates "to the manor hall". The top right is labled "the commons/moorland".
